Director and writer Ibrahim El Batout
founded Ein Shams Films early 2010, to be an
independent film production company that produces low
budget quality films with a special focus on fresh and new talent.
El Batout established the company after acclaimed success for his second
directorial work Ein Shams in 2009. The film, Ein Shams, received regional and
international recognition in several Arab and international film festivals.
Ein Shams Films debut production is Hawi, which had its world premiere in
the Doha Tribeca Film Festival and where it won the Best Arab Film
Award. Hawi is also scheduled to screen internationally as part
of the 40th Rotterdam International Film Festival
commencing January 2011.
