Hawi Continues to Show in Theaters During Ramadan

Hawi shows in Egyptian theatres starting from Today, for two weeks till August 16th, in Nile City cinema in Cairo and San Stefano Mall Cinema in Alexandria.
Hawi is written and directed by Ibrahim el Batout, starring a big group of new actors and actresses from Alexandria such as Mohamed El Sayed, Sherif el Dessouky and Rina Aref, along with the talented Hanan Yousef. Filming took place entirely in Alexandria and was produced by Ein Shams Films which is owned by Ibrahim el Batout. The film is distributed by Al Arabiya for Film Production and Distribution.
The film was first shown in Egypt on Wednesday June 22nd, in Cairo and Alexandria, after organizing a premiere exclusive for journalists and the cast only in Alexandria, making it the first ever premiere that was held away from Cairo. Moreover, the film recieved the Critics Award lately in the 17th annual Rabat Film Festival which was hosted from 24th June- 2nd July 2011.
The film participated in numerous competitions in several international film festivals. It first won the award for Best Film in The Doha Tribeca Film Festival, it also participated in the International Film Festival Rotterdam, Berlin, Gulf Film Festival in Abu Dhabi, El Fagr in Iran, Tormina in Italy and Durban in South Africa. The film still continues its journey around the world in several festivals that are coming soon.
Hawi is Batout's third feature after his movies Ethaki and Ain Shams. It's the film that has participated the most in several international festivals around the world, starting from winning the grand Tribeca Award in The Doha Tribeca Film Festival for Best Film.
